US food group JM Smucker has launched an organic coconut oil under its Crisco brand.
The product is a "substitute" for butter, margarine and other oils, Smucker said.

"For consumers looking for a substitute to other oils and butters, Crisco Organic Coconut Oil is the perfect solution in the kitchen," a JM Smucker spokesperson said. "We're proud to be expanding our Crisco product offerings with such a versatile product."
The oil is available in grocery stores nationwide for the suggested retail price of US$6.99.
