Schutte joined Astral Foods in 2002 and has been managing director of the animal nutrition division since July 2004. He has served as an executive director on the board of Astral Foods for the past five years. He becomes CEO from next month.


The board has also appointed Daniel Dirk Ferreira as financial director of Astral Foods, also effective from 1 May.


Ferreira has years of experience in financial accounting, first at ICS Group for 13 years and later at Genfood for two years. At ICS Group he was the group financial manager before the acquisition of ICS by Tiger Brands.
