South African retailer Metro Cash and Carry (Metcash) has said it has agreed to purchase the entire franchise interests of convenience store chain 7-Eleven from the Hadjidakis family.

Metcash said the deal was subject to the fulfilment of certain conditions, including the completion of due diligence, the discharge of two 7-Eleven companies from provisional liquidation and approval from the competition authorities, reported SAPA.


Metcash said the transaction would have no material impact on Metro’s net asset value or earning per share but would still contribute to group earnings.
