New Zealand dairy giant Fonterra and Swiss food group Nestlé have announced the appointment of Juan Carlos Pestana to the position of chief executive officer of Dairy Partners Americas (DPA).

Pestana is currently the country head of DPA Brazil and is a former managing director of New Zealand Milk (Americas). He starts his new role on 1 January 2005.
Pestana replaces Hugo Lanthemann, who is taking up a new position within Nestlé.
DPA is a 50/50 partnership between Fonterra and Nestlé and was established in January 2003. The alliance now operates joint ventures in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela.
