Grupo Eroski will extend its existing supermarket network with the opening of an additional 19 supermarkets in the three months to the end of January.
The stores, opened during the company’s fourth-quarter, will create about 400 new jobs, a spokesperson for Eroski said today (5 January).
The new outlets will carry around 5,000 SKUs, including fresh bakery, meat, fish and produce. Over 1,000 own-brand products will be available, the spokesperson indicated.
“Our supermarkets carry a wide range of goods at competitive prices, with the Eroski brand representing excellent value. This remains the focus of our strategy,” the spokesperson said.
Eroski, a retail and distribution cooperative, is the largest supermarket group in Spain.
