French dairy giant Lactalis has won competition approval for its acquisition of Spanish infant nutrition business Sanutri.
A spokesman for Spain’s competition watchdog, the CNC, today (3 November) confirmed that the deal had been cleared.

“From our point of view, there is no problem from a competition perspective,” the spokesman told just-food.
Lactalis announced its plan to buy Sanutri earlier this summer after agreeing a deal with the Spanish firm’s owner, French health food group Nutrition & Sante, itself owned by Japanese firm Otsuka Pharmaceutical.
Sanutri makes a range of baby milk and baby cereal products.
