US ice cream company Ben & Jerry’s said it will invest €15m (US$14.8m) in 100 franchise stores in Spain by the end of 2006.

The company already has two stores in Barcelona and plans to open new stores in Barcelona and Madrid by the end of this year. It is not clear where the remaining stores will be located, but it is likely the company will aim for a good national coverage.


Ben & Jerry’s was acquired by Anglo-Dutch consumer products giant Unilever in 2000.
