Reg Weine, the former CEO of Australian dairy firm Bulla Dairy Foods, is to join canned food group SPC Ardmona as its new managing director.

Weine, who headed Bulla Dairy for four years before resigning in January, will join SPC Ardmona on 26 May. He replaces Peter Kelly, who left SPC Ardmona in March.

Alison Watkins, group MD of SPC Ardmona's parent Coca-Cola Amatil, said: "Reg is a seasoned managing director and his very relevant consumer goods experience, particularly in marketing, sales and innovation, will add huge value to SPC during this period of transformation and return to growth."

In February, Coca-Cola Amatil reported SPC had almost broke even in 2014 after a "significant" improvement in its profitability.

SPC had been seeing its sales and earnings hit by cheaper imports. However, CCA pointed to some ground being gained in 2014.
