Finnish food group Atria today (19 February) revealed that it has acquired 5,976,900 shares in AB Sardus for a price of SEK115 (US$16.37) per share through its Swedish subsidiary Atria Meat & Fast Food Aktiebolag.
The deal sees Atria take control of a 57.1% stake in Sardus.The total cost of the acquisition amounts to approximately SEK1,162m, Atria said.
Atria has issued a public cash offer to acquire the remaining outstanding shares in Sardus.
Sardus is active in the frozen food and sandwich topping sectors in Finland.
