The work on recruiting a new CEO for Axfood will begin immediately, the company said.

“I have five very exciting and stimulating years behind me at Axfood,” says Mats Jansson. “To have this opportunity to participate in the establishment and development of a new company grouping in the Swedish retail food trade has been a big and gratifying task. My personal plan and goal has been to work on operationally level with Axfood’s merger during a five-year period based on the 2000-2005 strategic plan. As a director of Axfood AB I will continue to work actively with the company’s future development.”
