Axfood Närlivs has acquired Reitan Convenience Sweden’s distribution centre in Kings Curve, just outside Stockholm.

As part of the agreement, Reitan, the operator of 7-Eleven outlets in the country, has signed a five-year supply agreement with Axfood. The new agreement will begin from 1 January 2011.

“The acquisition of this distribution centre creates a great opportunity for Axfood Närlivs AB to strengthen and develop our position as a wholesaler in the fast-food restaurant and fast meals that are strong growing market segment,” said Nicholas Pettersson, president of Axfood Närlivs.

Axfood has also entered into a two-year agreement with Preem to supply it with kiosk, groceries, fast-food and restaurant food.
