Swedish retail group Axfood has said net sales excluding VAT at the company’s Swedish stores rose 4.2% for August, while same-store sales rose 1.3%.
Consolidated net sales for August totalled SEK2.89bn (US$0.38bn), an increase of 1.6% compared with the same period a year ago.
Hemköp’s sales decreased 4.5% during the month, and same-store sales decreased by 3.0%, mainly due to the temporary closure of the company’s Stockholm City store.
Willys grew its sales by 9.6 % during the month, while same-store sales increased 4.5%. Willys hemma sales decreased 5.3 % during the month, while same-store sales slid 4.0%.
Spar Finland’s sales increased 2.1% or by 2.3% in local currency.
