Swedish retailer Axfood has appointed Thomas Evertsson as president of Willys AB, one of the group’s supermarket chains.
Evertsson, previously president of Coop Sverige for two and a half years, will assume his position on 1 September.
“During his time at Coop Sverige, Thomas has led an extensive change process and generated improved results,” said Anders Strålman, president and CEO of Axfood. “Thomas will be a strong force in Willys ongoing development.”
Axfood’s retail operations are conducted through the Willys, Hemköp and PrisXtra chains, comprising 222 stores in total.
In addition, the group collaborates with some 500 proprietor-run stores all tied to Axfood.
