Nordic confectionery maker Cloetta Fazer has reported a more than 12% rise in second-quarter profit after financial items to SEK63m (US$8.4m), compared to SEK56m a year earlier.
Operating profit for the second quarter was SEK59m, compared to SEK51m in the year-ago period.
The company said it reported continued sales growth in its two main markets, Sweden and Finland, with the successful launch of new products contributing to the strengthening of its key brands.
“This improvement is mainly due to the successful launch of new products,” said Cloetta Fazer’s CEO Karsten Slotte. “Our five key brands are showing continued sales growth. In Sweden and Finland our sales of the five key brands were up by 12% during the second quarter, with the strongest increase for Dumle, Kexchoklad and Center.”
