The first Swedish product to be developed specifically for the UK market since the Arla Foods merger is about to be launched.

Made at Arla Foods’ dairy in Gothenburg, the new product, a UK version of the spread “Bregott,” is targetted at a British retail chain which will sell the spread as “own label”.

The launch follows extensive collaboration between sales and marketing staff in UK, Denmark and Sweden and the production team from Gothenburg.

“The development of the new product demonstrates the massive scope we have for meeting customer requirements in what is one of the most competitive dairy categories, if not the entire food sector,” said Sarah Hemingway, Business Manager, UK Division.

Arla Foods is already market leader within the British butter market , with Lurpak accounting for a market share of 34 per cent.
