Swiss retailer Migros has confirmed that its discount chain Denner is piloting a smaller format designed for people living in densely populated areas.
The first Denner Express store will open in the Höngg quarter in Zurich at the beginning of November.
The store, which will operate as a franchise, is intended to meet the needs of people living in built-up towns and cities.
A spokesperson said today (12 September): “The pilot Denner Express is an advanced version of the famous franchise system of Denner satellites that is very popular in rural areas and smaller municipalities. This new format will remain true to the identity of Denner.”
The store will sell an assortment of both private-label and Denner own-brands.
