Swiss dairy group Emmi has appointed Urs Riedener, currently an executive at retail group Migros, as its new CEO.
Emmi said Riedener’s role at Migros as head of marketing had familiarised him with all aspects of the retail trade including marketing, sales and production. Before joining Migros, Riedener worked for chocolate producer Lindt & Sprüngli.
Emmi stated that Riedener would take up his post on 1 April next year at the latest.
With departing CEO Walter Huber handing over operational management of the company at the end of September, deputy CEO Robert Muri will manage Emmi’s day-to-day business. However, Huber will be available for special projects until the end of the year.
