Nestle has shaken up its management team in the wake of the decision from Paul Polman, the head of its business in the Americas, to leave for Unilever.
The Switzerland-based food giant said Luis Cantarell, who has been in charge of its European operations, will replace Polman.
Nestle said Cantarell had been in charge of establishing its Nestle Nutrition unit and had acquired “extensive experience” of the markets in the Americas.
Cantarell’s role will be taken by Laurent Freixe, who has been promoted from his position as head of Nestle’s business in Iberia.
Freixe has spent over two decades at Nestle, including roles in France and Hungary.
