Swiss food giant Nestlé has said that high food prices are here to stay.
“High food prices are probably going to continue,” a spokesperson for the group told just-food today (16 June).
However, the world’s largest food company did add that prices are likely to ease off the highs seen in recent months.
“The will stabilise, but not at the peaks seen in the last six months,” the spokesperson suggested.
Although the company predicted that the cost of ingredients has already peaked, Nestlé refused to rule out further price increases.
