Barry Callebaut has hired Unilever executive Peter Boone to head up its R&D.

The world’s largest B2B chocolate manufacturer today (25 October) appointed Boone chief innovation officer. He succeeds Hans Vriens, who left Barry Callebaut earlier this year.

Boone, who will join Barry Callebaut on 3 December, worked for Unilever for 16 years, most recently in charge of marketing in Australasia.

He will report into Barry Callebaut CEO Juergen Steinemann, who said: “I am happy Peter is joining us. He brings a best-in-class strategic marketing background in B-2-C and combines this with extensive experience also in B-to-B, innovation and gourmet areas.”
