Bon Appetit, a unit of Germany’s Rewe-Zentral, said Chailleux would acquire 55% of Magro at the start of July, with a view to acquiring the rest of the chain at a later date, reported the Swiss News Digest. Bon Appetit said the divestment would allow it to focus on its core activities.

The company said Chailleux plans to expand the chain, opening more outlets across Switzerland. Magro currently operates nine hypermarkets and five supermarkets.
