7-Eveven’s franchisee in Thailand has indicated that it plans to open 500-550 stores in the coming year, bringing the number of outlets in the country to more than 7,000.

The group said that this would drive sales growth, which is expected to reach 14-15%.

Speaking earlier this week (30 January), managing director Piyawat Titasattavorakul said that the company was focused on meeting the needs of “all ages” with full service stores. The firm is also looking to drive back-end efficiency by introducing new technologies and innovations, CP All said in a statement.

According to local reports, Titasattavorakul also indicated that the group has applied to Japan’s Seven & i for the lisence to open 7-Eleven stores in China, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. Seven & i and CP All were unavailable at time of press.
