Amornkeit Trading Ltd could face legal action, having been slammed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for placing claims on its V1-immunitor that the product can cure HIV/AIDS.

FDA secretary-general Dr Wichia Chokewiwat denied that the company had been given permission to trial the drug on humans, and stressed that the product should no longer be consumed.
V1-immunitor has been registered as a food product, according to Chokewiwat. The company must now seek official registration of the product as a drug if it is to remain on the market with the health claims, a move that will enable extensive trials to take place to determine if the product actually has any value in the treatment of HIV and AIDS.
Dr Suraphong Suebwonglee, deputy Public Health Minister, commented that the company has no right to sell the product as a cure for the virus. “If they mean well [in the search for a cure for HIV/AIDS] then they should do it in a legal way,” he said.”We’re ready to provide them with assistance.”
“The product is illegal, so the patients who are receiving, or are going to use the product, must consider on their own if it’s worth having any faith in it or not,” he added. Suraphong also stressed that the Public Health Ministry would appreciate any feedback from users on the side effects, or safety of the product in order to assess the situation.
