THAILAND: Garlic growers protest to government over falling prices, warm of roadblocks
Over a thousand angry garlic planters staged a protest outside the provincial hall in Mae Hong Son yesterday, demanding that the government hold up the falling prices for garlic at a minimum of 7-8 baht per kilogram. Currently, the price of garlic has fallen to around 4.5-5 baht per kilogram, and planters say that it actually costs 4.8-5.4 baht to produce.
