Tesco has opened its first convenience store in Thailand.
The store opened in the Pratunam district of Bangkok under the 365 banner. It provides ready-to-eat food, beverages and “everyday essentials” to consumers 24 hours a day, the UK retailer said.

Tesco has already pencilled in the launch for a further four 365s in the first quarter of this year.
The retailer said the new c-store format is based on changing consumer trends of more urbanised lifestyles and people’s need for “grab-and-go food and beverages.”
Speaking to just-food, Salinla Sihapan, corporate affairs director for Tesco’s Thai arm Tesco Lotus reiterated further openings would be tailored based on the success of the trial stores.
“The 365 store in Pratunam is a pilot project to test the market for six months. We will adapt it to suit customer demand.”
