Any firms found to be using MSG in food that is supplied to schools after the start of the next semester could face legal action, according to Deputy Education Minister Sirikom Maneerin.


The Education Ministry also aims to promote food safety and health though the school curriculum, reported the Bangkok Post. Students will be encouraged to participate in food-inspection programmes, under which they would be trained to detect these illegal additives such as the preservative borax.
