Thai Union, the largest processor of canned and frozen seafood in Thailand, has spent some THB440m (US$12.8m) on acquiring five new businesses to search for and catch fish in the Indian Ocean.
The company said the acquisitions would enable it to buy deep-sea vessels to catch tuna in the Indian Ocean in order to boost its access to the fish and bolster supply.
