The Thai unit of Anglo-Dutch food group Unilever has announced the launch of Wall’s Light, a low-fat version of its Wall’s ice cream.

Yol Phokasub, managing director of the unit’s ice cream business, said the launch followed consumer research that indicated a growing number of people are seeking healthier products, reported The Nation.

“With this new low-fat product, we expect these health-conscious consumers to eat ice cream more often,” he was quoted by The Nation as saying.

The company also said it is taking steps to improve the packaging and image of its entire ice cream range.
