Tiffin Sandwiches has acquired UK-based food-to-go manufacturer Love Bites for an undisclosed sum.

According to convenience food supplier Tiffin, the buyout is a “strategic move” that reflects its commitment to sustainable growth in Bradford, the city in north England where both companies are based.

Tiffin said in a statement that it plans to invest in Love Bites’ 10,000 square-foot site and factory, including upgrading machinery and its infrastructure.

Almost a year ago, Tiffin revealed it was building a new 50,000 sq ft factory next to its existing site on Commondale Way in Bradford at a cost of £10m ($13.5m). It said the project would create 400 local jobs.

Founded by husband-and-wife team Richard and Gill Smith in 1991, the food-to-go brand manufactures a range of sandwiches, wraps, rolls, pizzas, and salad, as well as heat-to-eat items like its new Lorne Square Sausage Roll and Grab & Go Calzone.

“We are thrilled to announce the acquisition of Love Bites, a cherished local sandwich manufacturer that has delighted the community for over 35 years,” Tiffin said in the statement.

“This strategic move reflects our commitment to sustainable growth and the enhancement of our operations in Bradford.”
