Turkish food manufacturer and retailer Bim has said it remains interested in Saudi Arabia despite the end of talks over a possible partnership with local conglomerate Savola.
In January, the two sides embarked on discussions over the potential formation of a discount supermarket chain in Saudi Arabia.

However, their agreement only allowed for six months of talks and a spokesman for Bim told just-food that no deal had been reached within the alloted time.
The spokesman declined to comment on whether any continuing interest in the Saudi market would be confined to establishing a retail presence there or whether Bim could also be interested in exporting food products to the Kingdom.
Bim runs 2,951 discount supermarkets in Turkey. It also operates a number of food manufacturing subsidiaries in Turkey. The company also has 47 stores in Morocco.
