Sugar worth US$25.8m was exported from Turkey’s southeastern Anatolia Region between January and November 2001, up from US$22.7m for the same period of 2000, according to figures released by the Southeastern Anatolia Exporters Union.
Meanwhile, in the same period, confectionery products worth US$24.5m were exported – an increase of US$2.3m year on year.
