Tyson Foods has invested US$3m to create an additional line at its processed food production facility in Emporia, Kansas.

The investment includes construction of a new room to house the line, the instillation of equipment and changes to existing refrigeration capacity. The move will create around 16 jobs, the company said.

Emporia is a speciality meat plant that produces value-added raw cuts of beef, pork and chicken for foodservice and retail customers. Tyson revealed the new line will manufacture products for a national foodservice customer.
