Irish food processor ABP Food Group has revealed an investment plan for premium sausage brand Debbie & Andrew’s to include additional product lines and a new advertising campaign.
ABP, which bought Debbie & Andrew’s from Dutch group Vion in January, said it is investing GBP250,000 (US$371,250) in the brand over the next 18 months, which will include the launch of a meatball line over the next few weeks.
The meatball line will be available in three variants: Beef & Ale; Spiced Green Chilli; and Sicilian. Prices and listings are to be confirmed.
In addition, ABP will also develop “small runs” of seasonal products, it said, designed for independent specialist and fine food retailers. The company said it will also “continue to explore regional variations and combinations of herbs, spices and seasonings and harvest produce”.
“Also, in line with D&A’s policy to provide family favourites for those with food intolerances, further gluten, wheat and dairy free alternatives are also being researched,” the company said.
A new sampling and website campaign will accompany the launch, as well as press advertising and on-pack promotions.
