Arla has expanded its line of dairy products aimed at lactose intolerant consumers with the launch of a skimmed milk under its Lactofree brand.

The company said Lactofree milk is make from “regular cows’ milk” which is then filtered to remove half the lactose. An enzyme is then used to break down the remaining milk sugars.

“As nothing else is added or removed, what you get is the nutritional benefits and great taste of regular milk just without the lactose,” Arla claimed.
