The UK firm has appointed Patrick Cairns, who spent 15 years at Unilever, most recently as European brand director for toiletries brand Lynx.
The appointment comes as UK-based investors Noble Fund Managers secures a “significant minority stake” in Plum.
Founder Susie Willis said the appointment of Cairns and the investment from Noble was a “step-change” for the company.
Willis said: “Patrick’s experience of leading the development of strong brands and businesses – along with the investment from Noble – will allow us to realise our vision for Plum as a challenger brand with big ambitions. This is about growing-up and not standing still.”
