The quarantine zone imposed after the discovery H5N1 avian influenza in Fife, Scotland, is due to be lifted when restrictions on the movement of birds in the safety zone around where the dead wild swan was discovered will come to an end.
Controls on the movement of poultry and captive birds within a six-mile radius, which were imposed in 5 April, will be removed on 1 May, the Times newspaper has reported.
If there are no further bird flu finds, farmers will also be permitted to keep poultry outdoors again.
