The research and development of the skimmed milk chocolate is being carried out in France. The company is not yet sure whether the experiments will prove successful and is keen not to sacrifice any taste or quality to achieve its goal, reported the Financial Times.

Despite arguing that sedentary lifestyles are more to blame for obesity than its products, Cadbury is also reported to be reviewing whether or not is should halt production of its “king-size” chocolate bars.

The company also plans to launch a new product in the UK in September called Snaps, which are crisp-shaped chocolate wafers containing about 15 calories in each piece.
