With Northern Foods set to decide where it will locate its new “super site” for the Fox’s biscuits brand, workers in Uttoxeter plan to demonstrate their desire for the contract by marching though the streets tomorrow (14 February).

“Two sites are being considered – Uttoxeter [Staffordshire] and Baxley, Yorkshire,” a spokesperson for Unite – the union organising the march – told just-food today.
“We have 800 members at the Fox’s plant in Uttoxeter. If the other site were to be selected we could potentially be looking at them all being lost.”
The march will be a Valentine’s themed event, as workers “show their love” for their jobs.
The management at Northern’s Fox’s Biscuits is expected to make a decision on the plant’s future in early March.
