Many shoppers believe that the budget brands are inferior to the more expensive products, but taste testers compared samples of baked beans, digestive biscuits, long-life orange juice, and ready salted crisps, and found that generally the nutritional content was the same.


The study did discover however that canned budget baked beans generally contained a fifth fewer beans than their more expensive equivalents; and that cheaper orange juice did not come in re-sealable containers, which limited its shelf life once opened.
