UK meat supplier Cranswick today (13 July) posted a 19% increase in first-quarter sales, primarily due to its acquisition of CCF Norfolk in June last year.

The company reported sales of GBP198m (US$298.5m) for the three months to 30 June. Sales were up 6% on an organic basis.

Cranswick said most categories delivered strong growth through higher volumes during the period, although it said there was a reduction in continental products.

The company said it continues to make good progress in integrating the Norfolk facility, with its recent investment programme delivering increased capacity and operational benefits.
