UK dairy processor Dairy Crest has confirmed that a review of operations at its creamery in Stonehouse will result in redundancies.
A spokesperson for the company told just-food Dairy Crest has entered worker consultations and is not able to confirm how many roles will be affected. However, the spokesperson added it is “likely” that around 35 people will be made redundant in June.

“This is a difficult decision and one that has not been taken lightly,” the spokesperson said.
The company employs more than 600 people at the facility, which processes in excess of 500m litres of milk each year, as well as manufacturing Dairy Crest’s Frijj brand milk drink.
Earlier this month, Dairy Crest announced a review of its operations in France. It said the potential sale of French spreads business St Hubert would reduce its debt but also help it to invest in its core operations in the UK, where it could acquire branded businesses.
