ABF has offloaded emulsifiers business Abitec for an undisclosed sum. The Northampton-based firm, which supplies to customers in Europe, generates annual sales of DKK200m (US$39.1m).
Danisco said the deal would improve its position as an emulsifiers supplier. “We will create an even better platform for developing new products and supporting customer needs and thereby further enhance our position,” Martin Klavs Nielsen, head of Danisco’s emulsifiers business, said.
Abitec’s food applications include ingredients for bread, ice cream and dairy producers.
