UK cake and bread maker Finsbury Food has said it is completing the development stage of a number of new Nestlé products ready for launch in spring 2005.
In September 2003 the group signed a five-year contract for the exclusive rights for the use of Nestlé confectionery brands in the UK ambient cake market.
At the company’s annual general meeting, chairman Lord Saatchi said the company’s Memory Lane Cakes subsidiary is approaching completion of its Christmas 2004 programme.
“This is proceeding according to plan following the implementation of a range of procedures during the course of 2004 designed to reduce costs and dependency on seasonal labour,” Saatchi said.
The company said its premium and specialty breads subsidiary, Nicholas & Harris, is benefiting from the capital expenditure programme implemented last year.
