Criado-Perez left his position at Safeway earlier this year after the chain was bought by its smaller rival, Morrison.
Now he is believed to be one of several parties interested in purchasing some or all of 120 smaller Safeway stores that Morrison may sell off, reported the Financial Times. Criado-Perez may face competition for the stores from other UK retailers such as J Sainsbury and Tesco, however.
