Honeytop Speciality Foods has worked with McDonald’s since 1999, helping to develop various new products for the chain, including flatbreads, toasted sandwiches and American-style pancakes. Honeytop products are sold in McDonald’s restaurants in more than 26 countries across Europe and the Middle East.
The company has received a £14,000 (US$26,370) Enterprise Award from HGCA (Home Grown Cereals Authority), which promotes the use of UK-grown cereals, for its work with McDonald’s. The grant covers a two-year period, during which Honeytop’s partnership with McDonald’s is expected to result in an additional 3084 tonnes of UK-grown grain being used.
