Iceland Group PLC (“Iceland”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Gaunt, aged 42, as Group Logistics Director. He will join the Executive Committee of the Group and will report directly to Bill Grimsey, Chief Executive.

Brian Gaunt joins from ASDA where he was appointed as Director of Supply in 1995 and in which role he helped the recovery of the business through the establishment of a Logistics capability. Upon the acquisition of ASDA by Wal-Mart Brian was promoted to European Supply Chain Director with additional responsibility for driving change in their supply chain in Germany. Prior to joining ASDA he was Logistics Controller at B&Q after having held senior positions at United Biscuits and Touche Ross Management Consultants.

Mike Coupe was last week appointed Managing Director of Iceland Foods plc and will join the Group Board. He joins from ASDA where he held the position of Group Trading Director. He joined ASDA in 1993 and was previously with Tesco.
