IGD has been awarded Investors in People status, the national standard which recognises companies’ investment in their staff.

Investors in People assesses companies’ performance in four different areas:

  • Commitment – being fully committed to developing its people in order to achieve its aims and objectives.

  • Planning – being clear about its aims and its objectives and what its people need to do to achieve them.

  • Action – developing its people effectively in order to improve its performance.

  • Evaluation – understanding the impact of its investment in people on its performance.

Joanne Denney, Chief Executive IGD said “I am delighted that we have achieved the Investors in People standard at our first attempt and that our commitment to our people and their development has been recognised.”

Norman Jennings, responsible for Investors in People within Business Link Hertfordshire, said “IGD sees clearly where it wants the business to go.  It involves its people by communicating business goals and targets, gains the commitment of people to improve performance and takes action to develop their skills, knowledge and qualifications; motivation, commitment and loyalty; job satisfaction and career prospects.”
