Lee Doleman, former general manager of the ingredients division, has become the group’s commercial director and will lead the sales and marketing functions. Douglas Mackay, a relatively new arrival at J O Sims, having joined the company only 18 months ago from Premier Foods, will take over as ingredients general manager.
The company has also appointed a new finance director. Andrew Bell joins J O Sims from the Cargill group, where he was formerly UK accounting manager, and has also worked in the past at Smith + Nephew. A further promotion sees Darren Matschull appointed as procurement director.
“This is an exciting time for JO Sims, as the company moves from strength to strength in both our fresh fruit and ingredients markets,” said Christopher Sims, managing director of J O Sims. “In making these appointments, we have created a dynamic new management team, where each member will play a distinct role in the decision making process, steering the business towards future growth.”
