John Dowd, former managing director of Bradford-based supermarket chain William Morrison, has died aged 58.

Dowd, who had worked at Morrison’s for 30 years, stepped down from his role on the board earlier this month after first announcing his ill health in January. Following major surgery, he had been ill for a number of weeks.
