US food group Kraft Foods is to close its Terry’s chocolate facility in York, England with the loss of more than 300 jobs.

Kraft plans to move production to central and western Europe in the second half of 2005. Production is likely to be transferred to the company’s existing factories in Belgium, Poland, Slovakia and Sweden, reported BBC News Online.
The York plant makes Kraft confectionery products, including Terry’s Chocolate Orange, Terry’s All Gold and Twilight, for the UK and international markets.
